For a road trip in Namibia, you should ideally rent a high-clearance vehicle or a 4×4 (four-wheel-drive), such as a Toyota Hilux or Ford Ranger, especially if you plan to visit remote areas or national parks. While a standard 2WD sedan can handle main tarred roads and some well-maintained gravel roads, a more robust vehicle provides essential safety, comfort, and flexibility.
